FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is UCampus?
UCampus is a growing network of school specific web communities, each helping college students better connect to their city and school. Each site on the network focuses on the needs of one campus and is customized with content, logos, colors, domain names, and authors specific to that school.
College students’ daily needs are fundamentally local and each UCampus site works to help students navigate their school and city by collecting and organizing all of the most important on and off campus resources on one easy to use platform.
How do I use UCampus?
Use it as a homepage… the front page of every site is built to function as an online homepage for college students. Quickly access your most important online resources and essential school alerts.
Use it to stay updated… our sites update everyday with relevant and entertaining content. Check back every day and stay up to date with what’s happening on campus and in the world around you.
Use it to find information about local businesses… check our business directory for information about open businesses, current specials, and online coupons. Quickly see what people think about a business with our unique voting system, and add your own opinions for others to see.
How can I get involved?
UCampus is 100% free and registering for an account is quick and easy. Just hover over the Register link located at the top right on your school’s campus homepage. Once you register you can customize your account with your own preferences and start voting on local businesses.
UCampus is built on local community involvement and we love getting new students involved in their UCampus community. We are always looking for students to help as Site Managers and Local Authors, but the most immediate way to get involved is to comment on student articles and give feedback on businesses in the business directory.
What is the Business Directory? What’s the deal with Community Tags?
Site users can access the business directory on each site and quick find real time search results about local businesses in their area. Students can quickly and easily find open restaurants and bars, delivery options, food and drink specials, open school facilities, events, and activities.
Community tags are our improved way to rate and describe businesses. Register for a UCampus account and vote on community tags that describe how you feel about a business. Our system collects these votes and allows users to visit a business's profile page and quickly size up what the community thinks about a business, or customize search results to return a list of businesses with votes for a certain tag (ex: search for all restaurants voted "Romantic").
How do online coupons work?
Online coupons are provided directly from our local business partners. Users can access these free coupons and print, email, share, or text the coupon directly to their cell phone. We’re constantly adding new coupons and specials, and with our text functionality you never have to worry about carrying around your old coupon booklets.
