I'm sorry if I'm depressing anyone at the start of a busy and already stressful week, but your secret dreams have just been crushed.  

Remember that part in Jurassic Park when the dinosaurs were alive?  It made perfect sense to all us regular people who have a deep understanding of genetics.  Apparently however, a recent study in New Zealand has found that DNA doesn't really last that long.  According to this Gizmodo story,

"unless Henry VIII rode a stegosaurus into battle, we're never going be able to clone a dinosaur. Which, in turn, means that your beautiful Jurassic Park dreams have just been crushed with Jurassic Park III levels of disappointment."

The article goes further to say that the only semi-dinosaur era creature we might be able to get a good DNA sample of is this guy...
